Analysis Continued
The next shot cuts to this which tells us the scene we have just seen is the end of the film and it will now tell us the story.
The lighting is now brighter and the sound clear to show no trouble has yet occurred. We also see the main character again where she is giving a speech at a funeral of a school child who has commited suicide. She is smartly dressed and literatly spoken which makes us assume she is a figure of importance.
When the boys only friend disrupts her speech he is thrown out of the church by the teacher above and thrown down some steps. Here we see the low angle looking up towards the teacher showing his authority over the boy. It cuts to an eye line match below.
This is a high angle shot to show the boys inferior position. His clothing tells us he is a stereotypical ‘nerd’ as his tie is tightly done, he wears glasses and had only one friend.
When the dead boy’s family are mourning over the grave a woman dressed in black places this bear at the grave. From the close up of the bear we assume this will be of significance later in the film.
