15 Minute Analysis of Similar Film
I have analysed the first 15 minutes of a film called tormented. It is a certificate 15 and is a thriller funded by the BBC.
The first shot in the film is the production company, this tells a viewer who the film is made by and can often indicate whether the film is a high or low budget film and if it is independent or not.
We see another company name, the BBC which is recogniseable as the company in which the film got it’s funding.
This is the first shot of the film and imedietley an audience knows it is a police car hinting some trouble is happening. This creates a serious mood straight away.
The camera pans around to see paramedics rushing in to the building which we assume is a school due to the mise en scene of children in uniform. Our attention is drawn to a school girl being escorted out of the building where we find her to be the main character. The school children whisper and point and the sound is unclear to show something bad has happened.
The extreme close up of the characters face is used to show her emotion . We can see she is upset and scared.
